UN Women seeks to recruit a competent Communications Specialist consultant to develop and execute a robust media campaign to disseminate key findings and insights of a study on women’s participation in political parties in Lebanon.

The consultant will be reporting to Women’s Political Participation Programme Manager, and will be supported by programme assistant, who will be the point of contact on the contract and payment issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate selected for this consultancy will be expected to develop and execute a robust media campaign to disseminate key findings and insights of a study on women’s participation in political parties in Lebanon. The aim is to reach a diverse audience and maximize the impact of the study.

Scope of Work:

Designing a report:

  • Designing the study on women’s participation in political parties in Lebanon.

Dissemination Plan:

  • Develop a detailed media plan outlining the plan for the study’s dissemination.

Video Testimonies:

  • Develop a series of up to 9 testimonial videos featuring key female individuals from the 9 political parties. The videos are based on in depth-interviews with female representative figures from each of the 9 parties along with featuring data related to the party, highlighting their perspectives on the women’s political participation and their status within their political parties.
  • Shooting the launching event of the study and developing a final video compiling main highlights from the above 9 videos along with footage from the launching event.

Visual Design:

  • Create a series of 12 graphics and visuals that compile and go align with the study key messages, including developing teasers before the launch of the study (3 out of 12).

Motion Graphic Video(s):

  • Produce engaging and appealing 1 motion graphic video summarizing the study’ chapters and key findings.
  • addressing the actual work and key findings.
  • tackling the study’s recommendations.

Required Skills and Experience

Education and Certification:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism or relevant field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience at national or international level in public relations, communications, or advocacy, including in media relations.
  • Experience in the use of social media.
  • Experience in gender and human rights issues is an asset.
  • Computer skills, statistics, internet communication and command of MS Office.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge Arabic or any other UN official language is an asset.
