Background

Social economy refers to a third sector in economies between the private sector and business or, the public sector and government. The main objective of the project is to develop strong and vital social economy sector in Poland and suggest possible models for replication in other Eastern European countries. In particular, social economy institutions will be supported to improve their efficiency, develop a system of standardization and creation of social economy entities. Support structures for social economy entities will be elaborated and tested including efforts to increase social enterprises’ brand visibility. Education and training programs in the field of social economy (postgraduate studies, training, counseling, study visits and internships) will be elaborated and introduced.


The activities covered by the following contract are addressed to the partnership focused on the Social Design Center in Cieszyn. The Center is aimed to produce and to promote social design products for everyday use.

Duties and Responsibilities

The objective of this assignment is to create the brand and its identity in the public perception in the society, as well as its recognition on the market. The next main field is to coordinate measures of the partnership in this field and to create the marketing strategy and sales chain for the products. Under the supervision of Project Coordinator, the Brand Manager is expected to:

  • cooperate with producers, distributors and suppliers
  • recognize and implement what marketing possibilities are for the social design products
  • develop new marketing strategies and sales plans
  • carry out monitoring and analyzing of the market data concerning the segment, clients and competitor as well as product market position
  • organize B2B relations and coordinate cooperation with the PR agency
  • represent the enterprise in the conferences, fails, forums

Competencies

  • Good knowledge of polish model of social economy, including legal environment, funding sources and support structure
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a multi-national environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and good knowledge of Polish law for NGO.

Required Skills and Experience

Academic Qualifications/Education:

  • Master degree in social, economic or development science 

Experience:

  • At least 3 years working experience
  • Experience in launching products on the market and creating of new brands

Language skills:

  • Fluent Polish
  • Working knowledge of English

Evaluation of Applicants:

Individual consultants will be evaluated based on a cumulative analysis taking into consideration the combination of the applicants’ qualifications and financial proposal.
The award of the contract should be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:
a) responsive/compliant/acceptable, and
b) Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation.
Only the highest ranked candidates who would be found qualified for the job will be considered for the Financial Evaluation.
Technical Criteria - 70% of total evaluation – max. 35 points:

  • Criteria A (Experience in promoting products of social enterprise) – max points: 5
  • Criteria B (Experience in management of the polish NGO) – max points: 15
  • Criteria C (Experience in development of marketing strategy of social design products) – max points: 15

Financial Criteria - 30% of total evaluation – max. 15 points

*Please note that the financial proposal is all-inclusive and shall take into account various expenses incurred by the consultant/contractor during the contract period (e.g. fee, health insurance, vaccination and any other relevant expenses related to the performance of services...). All envisaged travel costs must be included in the financial proposal. This includes all travel to join duty station/repatriation travel.

Payments will be made only upon confirmation of UNDP on delivering on the contract obligations in a satisfactory manner.
Individual Consultants are responsible for ensuring they have vaccinations/inoculations when travelling to certain countries, as designated by the UN Medical Director. Consultants are also required to comply with the UN security directives set forth under dss.un.org
