Background |
| UNDP serves the role of Administrative Agent for UN Multi-Partner Trust Funds (MPTFs) and Joint Programmes (JPs). The Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office (MPTF Office) is UNDP’s specialized unit that provides a “one-stop shop” for fund administration services when UNDP is appointed by the UN system or national governments to serve as the fund administrator and as their administrative interface with contributors/partners. The MPTF Office manages transparent and accountable systems and business processes that enhance the UN system’s accountability for MPTFs/JPs established to address humanitarian, peacebuilding, transition/recovery, development and environment/climate change challenges. Its key system for fund administration is the MPTF Office GATEWAY ( http://mptf.undp.org) It supports the UN system and national governments in the formulation of appropriate joint funding mechanisms; receipt, administration and management of contributions from partners; disbursement of funds to Participating Organizations approved by the MPTF decisions making bodies; and synthesis and production of consolidated annual narrative and financial reports for submission to stakeholders. The Office’s current portfolio amounts to $6.0 billion comprising of over 50 country-level and global MPTFs and about 40 JPs implemented in more than 80 countries with contributions received from 60 contributors/development partners. The Executive Coordinator reports to the Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Director of the Bureau of Management and is delegated the accountability for UNDP’s functions as Administrative Agent. |

Duties and Responsibilities |
| The Executive Coordinator provides vision, leadership and strategic direction to the MPTF Office in the implementation of the Office’s mission and work plan, the management of 22 staff resources and timely and transparent delivery of agreed services. - Ensures proper performance of UNDPs role as Administrative Agent of MPTF’s JPs as per established policy.
- Advances the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP as the promoter of a coordinated, cohesive and effective UN Country Teams at the country level.
- Represents the MPTF Office at international, regional and inter-agency meetings;
- Promotes partnerships and establishes synergies with MPTF stakeholders at all levels;
- Leads, monitors and manages the work and staff of the MPTF Office and ensures strategic management of resources.
- Ensures the financial integrity and sustainability of the MPTF Office as a lean, fully self-financing unit;
- Ensures maximum use of technology for innovations, enhanced accountability, transparency and implementation of lessons learned for the use of the funds.
- Ensures lessons learned from the growing operations of MPTFs are assessed and documented and shared on an ongoing basis;
- Submits annual reports to the UNDP Administrator (through BoM, Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Director and the Assistant Administrator and Director) and the UNDG Advisory Group on the operational performance and challenges of the MPTF Office.

Required Skills and Experience |
|
Education: - Advanced university degree in economics, finance, business/public administration, or other related fields
Experience: - A minimum of 15 years of work experience in national/international organizations with senior-level management responsibilities.
- Knowledge of UNDP and the UN system and good understanding of the multilateral and bilateral development system.
- Solid experience and demonstrated results in in managing teams, leading inter-agency operations, as well as establishing strategic international partnerships, resource management and negotiations.
Language: - Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Working knowledge of a second UN language desirable.
