Background |
| Office of the UN Resident Coordinator was established in the year 2000 to effectively and professionally support the Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Thailand in discharging the new responsibilities entailed in the UN Reform process. The functioning of the unit is jointly funded by the UNCT towards the coordination and development of joint UN programming and common services.

Duties and Responsibilities |
The intern will assist the team in coordinating roles with the scope of work as described below: - Support to regular UNCT Meetings, and up-coming advocacy events, such as Development Cooperation Seminars and ad hoc meetings. Liaise with meeting participants and organizers on logistical matters of such meetings/seminars.
- Revamp the UNCT public website to ensure it effectively functions as an outreach advocacy tool in line with the UN repositioning in the country and the new UN partnership framework with Thailand.
- Monitor and update news through social media via twitter and youtube.
- Provide other support and assistance, including preparation of documents, proof-reading corresponding and research work.
- Monitor and compile information on political situation and other emergencies in Thailand.

Required Skills and Experience |
- Current enrolment in a masters or equivalent degree in Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences or related field;
- Demonstrable skills in analytical thinking, communication, and research;
- Good speaking, writing and editing skills in English and Thai;
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of automated systems; knowledge of web content management would be an advantage;
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work under pressure within an international setting;
- Ability to perform a variety of administrative tasks.
