Background

UNDP invites applications from energetic, motivated and proactive students for internship programme (4 posts). Currently internships are open in the following units: Finance Unit, Human Resources Unit, UN Department of Public Information and Strategic Resources Management Unit.

Under the overall guidance of the Unit Manager, the Intern will provide overall support services ensuring high quality of work, ensures accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery.

UNDP internship programme offers an outstanding graduate-level student the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to UN and UNDP's work with the objective of deepening his/her knowledge and understanding of UN’s goals, principles and activities. It is designed to complement communication-oriented studies with practical experience in various professional aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support in maintaining proper filing system;
  • Scanning of the documents;
  • Update of data bases;
  • Support in organization of events, conferences and other activities as necessary;
  • Support in daily activities of the Unit;
  • Drafting of the letters and documents when needed; 
  • Provide administrative support;
  • Performs other related duties as required.

The key results have an impact on the execution of the services in terms of quality and accuracy of work completed.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
Applicants shall be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school at the time of application and during the internship; or have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree, if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages.

For internship in UN Department of Public Information (UNDPI) enrollment in Journalism, Public Relations or related graduate programme would be considered as an advantage.

Experience:
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.). Experience in handling of web-based management systems.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English and Ukrainian.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the UN.
