Background

Globally, the United Nations Development Programme has commissioned a Web Upgrade Project in order to standardize the web presence of its 177 UNDP country offices around the globe. At present, many of the UNDP country offices have developed their own websites, with their own hosting, different content management systems and varying typologies for presenting information. In order to address this, UNDP commissioned a Web Upgrade Project to ensure that there was consistency in the look, presentation and content on country office websites. The project aims to, “standardize web management, reduce inefficiencies, improve UNDP’s global image, facilitate transparency and ensure that the general public, the UNDP community (partners, donors etc) development professionals and programme staff can easily locate the information they need”.
