Background
The TNC and BUR will update and strengthen information provided regarding national circumstances, greenhouse gas inventories, climate change mitigation, and information on mitigation actions and domestic Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV). The projects will also report on relevant public awareness, education and training activities undertaken in Lebanon, as well as the constraints and gaps, and related financial, technical and capacity building needs. The projects will increase the national capacity to produce subsequent NCs and BURs that meet COP guidelines and inform policies in Lebanon.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of the GHG emission inventory for the waste sector;
- Preparation of the mitigation options analysis for the waste and wastewater sector;
- Compilation of information related to mitigation actions in the waste and wastewater sector.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- University degree (at the Masters level) in Environmental sciences/engineering or closely related fields. PhD will be considered as an asset.
Experience:
- Local relevant experience of not less than 5 years;
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in waste and wastewater and national policies;
- Previous experience in preparation of studies, reviews, sectoral recommendations;
- Familiarity with national communications processes under the UNFCCC is a plus;
- Substantial knowledge of IPCC manuals and guidelines, Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) and Uncertainty; Management in National GHG Inventories is a plus.
- High proficiency in Arabic and English languages.
