Description of Key Functions:
- Lead the development and implementation of the UN Women Private Sector Partnership Sstrategy in alignment with UN Women’s mission and its overall Partnership Strategy;
- Review and refine the strategy at regular intervals to harness new emerging opportunities, to anticipate changes to the internal direction and external environment, and to make mid-term adjustments;
- Provide strategic guidance and support to UN Women country and regional offices to develop and implement locally-tailored private sector partnerships and resource mobilization strategies and initiatives;
- Liaise and coordinate with Programme and Policy Bureau to help package and define UN Women’s case(s) for support and differentiated value proposition to engage private sector support of core and non-core initiatives;
- Design and execute innovative proposals to strengthen UN Women’s reputation and to generate greater financial resources.
- Serve as a key advisor, representative and interlocutor with Private Sector Partners in harnessing and strengthening strategic partnerships for UN Women. Act as a key resource of real-time partner intelligence for UN Women’s senior management;
- Influence the debate with partners to improve development assistance policies and practices towards more effective and efficient support for gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- Determine the partnerships landscape to ensure optimal win-win partnerships for UN Women;
- Identify and mobilize key strategic partnerships to enhance impact and influence for UN Women’s strategic priorities;
- Maintain effective relationships with counterparts in other UN agencies, funds and programmes to promote and strengthen coordinated funding support for gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- Establish and build the UN Women Brand via events, media and public relations opportunities targeted at private sector audiences.
- Manage and provide oversight of all existing private sector partnerships and relationships, including high net worth individuals;
- Lead the activation and implementation of all private resource mobilization and partnership strategies;
- Lead the establishment and achievement of specific private sector resource mobilization/partnership goals and objectives;
- Identify appropriate data and benchmarks to measure success in alignment with UN Women’s overarching strategic plan;
- Manage Private Donor Relations Team including the Corporate Relations Specialist and the Donors Relations Specialist (Foundations);
- Guide and support National Committees with regard to private sector engagement;
- Ensure effective and efficient positioning and packaging of UN Women’s mission and programs in alignment with private sector objectives to engage long-term support and partnership.
- Manage the development, maintenance and sharing of knowledge and intelligence, to ensure UN Women is informed and positioned to effectively generate and harness opportunities to meet its resource mobilization targets;
- Strengthen the case for investment in gender equality and women’s empowerment by managing the development of high quality information and knowledge materials;
- Contribute to strengthening the Private Sector team members’ capacities and promote professional growth, learning opportunities and knowledge sharing.
- Identify and formulate lessons learned and recommendations to be integrated into the Organization knowledge management efforts;
- Contribute to Knowledge Networks and Communities of Practice.

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas
- Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, business, public administration, international relations, communications, women's studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of fundraising and development, corporate social responsibility, and/or resource mobilization and partnerships development or related field. Familiarity with resource mobilization for gender equality programming preferred;
- Extensive fund-raising experience (including major gifts, corporate and foundation relations) in diverse organizational settings;
- Extensive corporate management, communications and marketing experience with superior understanding of multinational/ corporate operations and culture.
- Fluency in English (written and oral). Knowledge of one other UN Official Language would be an asset.
In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system (DAW, OSAGI, INSTRAW and UNIFEM), which focused exclusively on gender equality and women's empowerment.
