Background
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is required to lead the PMC-Com bldg. in coordinating and conducting following functions/responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Capacity development of Property Managers, Developers, Owners who are aware of and interested in EE in buildings;
- Facilitate specific training programmes for key stakeholders and certified practitioners;
- Facilitate development of training curricula and modules incorporate at training institutes;
- Facilitate development of tools for energy –efficient building design guidelines, handbooks, software;
- Facilitate establishment of technically capable and equipped building materials testing laboratories;
- Co-ordinate and conduct training courses/workshops for architects/design professionals/ code compliance officials;
- Prepare handbook and guidelines on energy efficient building design and technologies for dissemination of information;
- Provide technical inputs for market assessment of energy efficient material and establishing of testing labs;
- Development of specifications and test procedures for material and laboratories;
- Development and implementation of strategies for creating market pull for energy efficient products and buildings;
- Accreditation of code compliance authorities to check ECBC implementation;
- Provide substantive inputs to NPC / NPM and stakeholders/ consultants.

- Provide technical inputs for pilot ECBC projects in five climatic zones;
- Develop framework for sharing information and knowledge on products and best practices to promote energy efficient building technologies;
- Impact analysis on account of effective implementation of ECBC in pilot projects;
- Formulating implementing rules and regulations for ECBC;
- Prepare handbook and guidelines on energy efficient building design and technologies for dissemination of information;
- Development of specifications and test procedures for material and laboratories.
Key Results Expected:
- Responsible to implement the component/outcome/outputs of project as outlined above and as per the Annual Work Plan (timelines as agreed in AWP);
- Responsible to provide inputs to the website, updation of information periodically as decided by the PMC. (At least quarterly updation);
- Provide inputs on relevant components to prepare Quarterly Progress Reports in the formats and timely submission internally and to UNDP (Quarterly);
- Responsible to prepare Project Information Report (PIR)/ Annual Progress Review (APR) in the GEF format and timely submission to UNDP (yearly).
- S/he will work under the supervision of National Project Manager, Energy Efficiency Improvements in commercial buildings and Head/Programme Analyst, Energy and Environment Unit, UNDP;
- S/he will work in collaboration with colleagues in Bureau of Energy Efficiency and EEU, UNDP;
- The person will collaborate closely and support the agencies as outlined in Project Document of the ‘Energy Efficiency Improvements in Commercial Buildings’ across the country.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Architecture from a recognized University or Institute;
- A Masters degree in Engineering / Architecture / Building Science / Physics/ Chemistry/ from a recognized University or Institute or equivalent would be desirable;
- Candidates having GRIHA Evaluator / LEED AP / IGBC AP / CMVP professional certification are desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum experience of at least 5 years which should include project related experience of at least 3 years commensurate with the job profile & roles and responsibilities expected to be handled by the candidate specifically in the areas of Building Energy Efficiency Policies & Programmes / Commissioning / Performance Contracting.
Language:
- Fluency in spoken English. Knowledge of Hindi is desirable.
