Background

The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will support the UN Women Zimbabwe monitoring and evaluation function, specifically support planning and conducting monitoring visits, support documentation of experiences and report writing.  The UNV will support data gathering in preparation for the updating quarterly Annual Work Plan tracking templates and support production of donor reports and internal monthly, quarterly and annual reports.  S/he will support the monitoring and evaluation function to ensure results are delivered in a timely manner. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design of all monitoring and evaluation tools;
  • Support the development and implementation of the Country Office M & E system;
  • Support planning and conducting of field monitoring visits;
  • Support production of field monitoring visits reports;
  • Provide technical support to partners in M & E and Results Based Management;
  • Provide support in conducting end of projects/ programs evaluations;
  • Support quarterly updating of the Annual Work Plan tracking template;
  • Maintains good working relations with implementing partners and UN agencies for implementing joint programmes;
  • Efficient filling/documentation of project documents, work plans, progress reports, budgets and other implementation documents;
  • Assist in assessing and reporting the key results from the UN Women Development Results Frameworks;
  • Support documentation of best practices and lessons learned directly linked to women’s economic empowerment;  GBV, women’s participation and representation in political and decision making structures and Gender, Peace and Security;
  • Assist in writing features and success stories about results achieved and efforts pursued by UN Women;
  • Support production of internal monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
  • Support report writing for training workshops and field monitoring visits;
  • Administrative tasks to include support booking of venues and logistics for workshops;
  • Support preparation and planning for quarterly, midterm and annual Work Plan reviews;
  • Efficient filling/documentation of project documents, work plans, progress reports, budgets and other implementation documents;
  • Undertake any tasks as requested by the Representative.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
  • A University degree or equivalent in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Business administration, Social Sciences or related field is preferable;
  • Possession of a Masters Degree would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 3 years of relevant experience at the National or International level in project management, monitoring and evaluation of development projects;
  • Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation.
 Language:
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
