Background

The Learning Intern’s primary function is to support the design, preparation, implementation and evaluation of the upcoming workshop for the leaders in UNDP country offices. The week-long workshop is organized by the Integrated Talent Management Team in the Office of Human Resources (OHR), and more specifically to the Leadership Development and Learning Units (OHR/ITM/LDU). It will take place in New York in November. 

The job requires creativity, enthusiasm in learning, and the ability to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality of output working under pressure. The ability to use good judgment and experience working in a multi-cultural setting are critical. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Learning Specialist, OHR/ITM/LDU, the Learning Intern

  • Ensures internal and external communication including the usage of social media;
  • Creates and maintains workshop websites for participants and speakers;
  • Updates workshop information in the learning management system;
  • Participates in the design of case-based learning activities;
  • Supports the delivery of the workshop;
  • Compiles and analyzes the evaluation data after the workshop;
  • Provides logistic support to the workshop during the delivery week (eg. technology, passes, food etc);
  • Responds to questions of participants coming from all over the world; and
  • Assists in the video shooting and production of a short movie of the participants’ reactions.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Student currently enrolled in a master or doctoral programme. 

Experience:

  • Sound knowledge in computer skills (eg. website creation), video skills are desirable. 

Language:

  • Fluency in English;
  • Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Conditions:

Interns are not financially remunerated by UNDP. The costs associated must be borne by the nominating institution, related institution or government, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students; or by the student, who will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make his or her own arrangements for travel, accommodation, visa, etc.
