Background

Under corporate requirement of global UNDP websites, the old website of UNDP in Kazakhstan will migrate to a new one – www.kz.undp.org. By applying the User Guide, the intern will help UNDP in Kazakhstan build a njew country office website in the new content management system, Adobe CQ5. This content management system (CMS) is designed to allow users with little knowledge of web programming to create and manage website content with relative ease. Under the guidance of Communications Associate, the Communications Intern will support UNDP CO on assisting the migration of the Russian and English web-sites.

Objective:

Within assigned authority, Communications intern will assist supporting the migration of the Russian and English version of the new web-site.

The internship is UNPAID and full-time. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in supporting the migration of the Russian and English version of the new web-site.
    • Familiarize themselves with the relevant User Guide Introduction to Adobe CQ5 which helps to migrate information from the old website to the new one.
    • Bring the Russian and English versions of the old website into accordance with the new web-sites’ English and Russian versions by translating the materials from one language into another.
    • Migrate information from the old web-site accordingly to a relevant space provided on the new web-site, including layout specificities like templates, captions, taglines, teasers, dates of publication, project names, etc.

Required Skills and Experience

Professional Skills and Experience:

Applicants enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) at the time of application and during the internship;

 

Applicants pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages have completed at least two years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree;

 

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the sphere of journalism, social media, and communications;

 

Excellent computer skills, including design programmes (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe CQ5) including excellent skills in web-sites development, its administration and maintenance;

Excellent capacities for planning and information management;

 

Language requirements:

Good command of English

 

Requirements to reporting:

Reports shall be submitted upon the implementation of the task, according to the schedule. They shall be approved by the Communications Associate.
