Background
The UN Green Group in Brazil aims to advance joint and integrated actions for the promotion of sustainability and Green Offices. Furthermore, the group aims to assist in the creation of a new culture of environmental awareness within the UN offices in Brazil, in accordance with directives of the UNDAF (2012-2015).
Objectives
The purpose of the Communications Internship – Website and Social Media is to periodically input content into the UN Green Group website.
Venue
All tasks can be performed remotely.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision of the UN Green Group focal point, the Internship will be responsible for the following activities:
- Assist in the maintenance and update of UN Green Group’s website;
- Assist in the maintenance, development and monitoring of the UN Green Group’s presence on social networks, including Facebook and Twitter;
- Assist in planning, executing and monitoring social media campaigns;
- Prepare weekly news clipping on stories of the interest of UN Green Group.
- Assist in the evaluation and prospection of target audiences, key stakeholders and top digital influencers in order to constantly improve the UN Green Group’s presence and positive influence on social media platforms;
- Help translating documents, presentations, news articles and related materials into English-Portuguese (and vice-versa);
- Perform other related tasks as needed;

Required Skills and Experience
Length
The length of this Internship at UN Green Group Brazil is 6 months (part-time: 4 hours/day).
The assignment will be from November 2014 to April 2015 (estimated).
Eligibility
Candidates must be enrolled in a course of study leading to a university degree (either undergraduate or graduate) in a communications-related field such as Journalism, Marketing and Public Relations;
They are also expected to demonstrate a keen interest in the field of environment and on the UN Green Group’s mandate areas.
Portuguese must be the candidate’s mother tongue. Fluency in English is also required.
Financial Issues
Internships are not financially remunerated by UN Green Group.
Status
Internships are not staff members.
Internships may not be sought or accepted as substitutes for staff to be recruited against authorized posts.
Internships may not represent UN in any official capacity
