Background

Under the overall guidance of the ARR(P) and direct supervisor of designated supervisor if applicable, the Monitoring and Reporting assistant ensures effective delivery of the CO programme by entering and managing data and supporting programme implementation consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.
The Monitoring and Reporting assistant works in close collaboration with the programme and project and operations staff in the CO.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures the implementation of monitoring and reporting policies and strategies, focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Provision of regular update and input in monitoring of project activities, to assess overall project implementation with respect to project objectives, outputs and indicators;
  • Provision of effective troubleshooting, suggestion for corrective measures to be undertaken, and make arrangements of technical assistance to implementing partners based on results of monitoring, where necessary;
  • Timely reporting arrangements are in place and  being implemented to ensure that the reporting requirements are met in a timely manner;
  • Timely collection of information and drafting of ‘human interest stories’ of persons impacted by UNDP supported programming;
  • Provision of guidance to implementing partner and serves as focal point for M&R in line with UNDP monitoring and reporting policies, procedures and practices;
  • Analysis of data related to the project at the national levels;
  • High-quality data presentations, data maps, statistical spreadsheets for internal and external consumption: government, other UN agencies, etc;
  • Effective showcase to external stakeholders on progress made and impacts delivered;
  • Establishment of the mechanisms to track use of RBM tools.

Provides effective support to management of the CO programme focusing on the achievement of the following results:

  • Presentation of thoroughly researched information for formulation of country programme, preparation of project documents’ drafts, work plans, budgets, proposals on implementation arrangements.
  • Provision of guidance to the executing agencies on routine implementation of projects, tracking use of financial resources.
  • Follow up on performance indicators/success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of reports. }
  • Analysis of the situation in programme, identification of operational and financial problems, development of solutions.

Provides support in creation of strategic partnerships and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Analysis of information on donors, preparation of donor’s profile and database, establishment of contacts with donor counterparts.
  • Track and reporting on mobilized resources.

Contribution to UN Coordination and Joint Programming:

  • Participation in UN activities coordination and implementation.

Supports resource mobilization focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Analysis of information on donors, preparation of donor’s profile.
  • Track and reporting on mobilized resources.

Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Organization of trainings for the operations/ projects staff on all issues related to programme planning, monitoring and evaluation and the use of tools for managing and reporting,
  • Organization of trainings for government counterparts on planning, monitoring and evaluation, and other issues related to programme and project management
  • Synthesis and communication of lessons learnt and best practices in programme.
  • Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
  • Use of available technology tools for programming

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Political or Social Sciences, an advanced training in relevant discipline is desirable and will be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Project Management Experience.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent command in written and spoken English and Arabic is essential.

  • The Financial Proposal with a Daily fee shall be submitted.

The selection of the Individual Consultants will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Quality of sample product submitted;
  • Price - Financial Proposal with a Daily Fee;
  • Relevant Experience.
