Under the direct supervision of the HR Learning Specialist, the Learning & Development Associate will implement and support ongoing UN Women-specific learning and development programmes that address organizational needs and enhance the skills and career development of staff. S/he will be responsible for the monitoring and reporting of training events and mandatory course completion, and supporting inter-agency learning programmes including wellness events and the language programme. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the HR Learning Specialist, the Learning & Development Associate will be responsible for

  • The administration of the rollout of the Global Induction programme, including delivery of orientation sessions to new hires and visiting students;
  • The administration of the Global Workforce Survey, and Rewards and Recognition programme;
  • The monitoring of the online Learning Management System, and related training of the UN Women global Community of Practice for Learning Focal Points on how to use it and how to support its use locally;
  • The quarterly administration of registration and completion of language courses;
  • The weekly coaching of employees on career development needs and conducting of exit interviews;
  • The planning and organizing of quarterly wellness events by liaising with external and internal partners.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Completion of secondary education;
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences and/or specialization in human resources management, education or organizational development, will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in learning, training and career development, preferably at the international level.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required;
  • Knowledge of the other UN official working language is an asset.

Note:

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system (DAW, OSAGI, INSTRAW and UNIFEM), which focused exclusively on gender equality and women's empowerment.
