- Overall, providing substantive feedback on proposals and project documents, results-analysis frameworks and monitoring and evaluation plans (including log frames).
- Respond to various requests for participation and/or technical feedback from UN Women staff and external clients. This includes participation in the internal programme appraisal committee meetings for projects reviews and initiatives of general interest to UN Women.
- Prepare substantive reports and/or written contributions for various internal and external audience purposes, including reports to donors, fundraising documents, inputs for speeches, talking points, newsletters, guidance notes/other.
- Carry out research and draft inputs on specific topics as needed in support of the Section’s tasks and activities, including for preparation of quality speeches, articles or presentations, technical assistance requests and feedback, among other related needs.
- Coordinate and organize meetings, select events, workshops or panels; prepare minutes or summary reports as needed.
- Contribute to the Section’s knowledge management efforts, including review of evaluations and technical reports to document lessons learned and recommendations for knowledge-sharing in the area of violence against women.
- Contribute to tracking and synthesizing cutting-edge developments, tools or models of emerging or proven practice in the field of programming to end violence against women, in coordination with the Knowledge Management Specialist.
- Liaise and consult with UN Women Thematic Advisors, Geographic Sections and field-level Offices, as well as leading practitioners and counterparts from civil society and UN sister agencies, for the achievement of the above and related tasks. (E.g.inter-agency, internal and external partner meetings; supporting resource mobilization efforts; etc.).
- Manage projects and process related tasks for grant-making and financial support approvals, and oversee related administrative, operational and budget-related needs.
- Support resource mobilizationneeds,including project proposal writing and preparing donor reports as required.
- Represent UN Women in select meetings (e.g. inter-agency, internal, external partners).

- Knowledge of the UN context and the role of the UN and its agencies, funds and programmes, including in the area of gender-based violence, highly desirable. Experience in inter-agency/multi-actor collaboration highly desirable.
- Strong networking, team-building, organizational, communication, public speaking and inter-personal skills.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills in English.
- Capacity to work with diverse partners including governments, civil society, women's groups, UN entities and donors.
- Ability to manage for results, by translating strategy into achievable plans, with established priorities and ability to monitor and introduce adjustments. Self-starter and self-resourcefulness major assets.
- Ability to effectively represent UN Women in external fora, including policy-making and United Nations inter-agency initiatives.
- Strong management experience in a global multicultural setting respecting gender equality and an ability to contribute to team work.
Qualifications et expériences requises
- Advanced degree or equivalent in international affairs, human rights, gender/women's studies, and/or development.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant national/international working experience in international development especially gender equality and gender-based violence.
- Experience in the United Nations, a governmental, other multilateral or civil society organization in a developed or developing country highly desirable.
- Fluency in English. Working knowledge in Spanish and/or French or other UN official languages highly desirable.
