For more than 30 years, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Jordan worked with its counterparts and beneficiaries to transfer technical knowledge and expertise, and to provide financial support. The programme is seeking to improve the lives of local communities. UNDP engages with Jordanians at all levels of society to provide support in developing their capacities to enhance their livelihood. UNDP Jordan works closely with the government of Jordan to meet the needs of citizens and tackle the challenges facing the kingdom in the following areas of support: Reducing Poverty and Achieving the Millennium Development Goals, Promoting Democratic Governance, Climate Change and Protecting the Environment and Management and Preparedness for Potential Disaster. Promoting gender equity, inclusion of youth in development programmes, and the protection and promotion of human rights are main components of UNDP Jordan’s attention in the areas of support provided to Jordan. UNDP Jordan remains attentive to respond to the development needs in Jordan in alignment with the national priorities.

UNDP Jordan is seeking quotations/proposals for the design and production of a range of marketing materials, including banner, Rollup and Posters in Arabic and English, info graphics and other types of materials to promote for UNDP projects/programs work in Jordan.

Designed materials is mainly intended to increase awareness about UNDP work in Jordan and shall give clear and direct information about UNDP, its achievements, Stories, and location of work in Jordan and other information might be observed as important.

UNDP is currently implementing and funding several programs with different themes and objectives, some of these programs listed below:

  • Poverty Reduction;
  • Democratic Governance;
  • Crisis Prevention and Recovery;
  • Environment and Energy.

Devoirs et responsabilités

The graphic designer will work closely with the Communications Officer and will be responsible of:

  • Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts;
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type;
  • Mark up and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer;
  • Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed;
  • Provide final approved product;
  • Supervise the printing process by closely liaising with the printing company and insuring high quality of the final product.

 Most of the design work to be completed will need to be done in two languages (English/Arabic).

The graphic designer will be responsible for ensuring the initiative’s branding falls in line with the UNDP branding and marking guidelines as well as matches other partner’s needs.

UNDP will provide the following:

  • Supply final copy for Principal Documents, Promotional Materials, Case Studies and digital assets (including original files of graphs and charts);
  • Supply a selection of images, logos and videos.

 Look & Feel of work designs

The designs should be appealing to youth, general public, government and private sectors, creative, cheerful, captivating, and positive. The designs should also be appealing to secondary target audience, professional, informative, and distinctive.

 Corporate Identity

Corporate identity guidelines for the project and the partners are available. Logo in illustrator format and guideline will be provided as soon as contract is signed.

 Institutional Arrangement

The consultant will report to, seek approval/acceptance of outputs from UNDP Communications officer.

Framework Agreement

The Individual Consultancy (IC) will be established as a framework agreement with the selected designer when the services are needed on an intermittent and repetitive basis. The IC will be based on an agreed upon unit price for the service and the issuance of a Purchase Order will be used to activate the rendering of service within the IC period. The IC as a framework agreement does not form a financial obligation or commitment from UNDP at the time the IC is signed, and that such an agreement is non-exclusive (i.e. it does not prohibit UNDP from entering into another such framework agreement with another individual or entity). Financial commitments will only be established each time the services are requested within the scope of the IC, through the agreed triggering action (Purchase Order) that signals the commencement of a given engagement.

Deadlines

The Graphic designer should be available to work within short deadlines and during weekends and public holidays. The Graphic designer should be flexible to any changes/modifications required to the designs.

  • The designing materials should include the following but is not limited:  flyers, roll ups, banners, signs, and brochures, invitation cards, posters, hand outs, factsheets, infographic..... Etc.  Content will be in both Arabic and English;
  • All materials should comply with the Corporate Identity requirements;
  • Graphic designer will work closely with the communications team to determine final work;
  • Graphic design might be required to work during weekends or after hours;
  • The graphic designer should provide the communication team with the original files of the designs;
  • Usability: marketing materials need to be suitable for use in different environments and to be disseminated through different modes of communication, i.e. at workshops, via e-mail, website, Facebook, etc. Consideration to the types) of material that will be produced for each environment is critical.

Qualifications et expériences requises

Education:

  • Post-graduate university degree in the field of graphic design.

Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience, in particular of graphic designing;
  • Proven experience in developing/implementing similar work; UNDP might ask applicants for reference check.
  • Previous experience with UNDP and/or International NGOs;
  • Proficiency in Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and all other necessary software;
  • Previous Work Samples: Materials that have been produced by the entity in the past and that are relevant to this bid.

Language:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is needed.

Scope of Price Proposal and Schedule of Payments:

  • Payments will be made based on the agreed upon fee and terms.
  • The financial proposal must indicate the all-inclusive daily fee for the design of the marketing material.

Criteria for Selection of Best Offer

The selection of the best offer will be based on a Combined Scoring method – where the qualifications and methodology will be weighted a maximum of 70%, and combined with the price offer which will be weighted a maximum of 30%. The 70% rating shall be based on how well the designer meets the minimum qualifications/competencies described above, based on CV and work samples.

The technical evaluation will be based on the following criteria with the corresponding points (out of a total of 100 points):

  • Years of relevant experience: 20 points;
  • Quality of work samples provided: 30 points;
  • Adequacy of competencies for the assignment: 50 points.
