Historique

The Building Sector Energy Efficiency Project (BSEEP) has for its goal the reduction in the annual growth rate of GHG emissions from the Malaysia buildings sector. The project objective is the improvement of the energy utilization efficiency in Malaysian buildings, particularly those in the commercial and government sectors, by promoting the energy conserving design of new buildings and by improving the energy utilization efficiency in the operation of existing buildings. The realization of this objective will be facilitated through the removal of barriers to the uptake of building energy efficiency technologies, systems, and practices.

To build capacity and increase awareness of the building design consultants in Malaysia with building building modelling and lighting simulation software, BSEEP intends to enhance the skill and experience of local building practitioners in the design of energy efficiency with lighting simulation software.

Devoirs et responsabilités

Scope of Work:

The primary jobscope is to develop training materials, documents and carry out an on site demonstration on the use of the software with drawings provided by the consultant or BSEEP.

The consultant will be required to:

  • Develop and formulate the dialux or dialux evo training material: Prepare and formulate the necessary training material to educate and to allow recreation of the process to produce the three dimensional model in dialux and subsequently carry out lighting simulations;
  • Dissemination of the dialux or dialux evo training material: Lead, coordinate and present training materials through four (4) workshop in around Malaysia. It is expected that live demonstrations on a computer with the software running be carried out to allow real time learning experience with the software to develop the necessary three dimensional model and lighting simulation.

Methodology

The consultant will report to the National Project Manager and will work closely with the BSEEP project team based at the Environment and Energy division of the Public Works Department (JKR).

Expected Outputs

Corresponds to the scope of work, the consultant is expected to develop and produce training materials to meet the learning objectives in work scope 1 and 2 above. All training materials must be submitted in an editable softcopy format. Videos if produced shall be in *.mp4 format.

Duration

The consultancy is expected to take place in October 2014

Deliverables and Timeline

The consultant will be responsible for the delivery, content, technical quality and accuracy of the training material, three dimensional model and lighting simulation model and report. All deliverables shall be submitted to UNDP Malaysia and BSEEP Project Management Unit at Environment and Energy division of the Public Works Department.

Terms of Payment

The fee is payable upon satisfactory completion and acceptance of the deliverables by BSEEP Project Management Unit and UNDP Malaysia. Breakdown of deliverables and percentage is in annex I.
