UNCDF is the UN’s capital investment agency for the world’s 49 least developed countries. It creates new opportunities for poor people and their communities by increasing access to microfinance and investment capital. Mobile Money for the Poor (MM4P) is a UNCDF programme that seeks to demonstrate how the correct mix of technical, financial, and policy support can assist in scaling up sustainable branchless and mobile financial services that reach the poor in very low-income countries. MM4P is currently present in Benin, Laos, Liberia, Malawi, Nepal, Senegal, Uganda and Zambia.

MM4P is looking for a Communications and Knowledge Management consultant for financial inclusion programmes to support its activities during Quarter 1, 2016. 

Devoirs et responsabilités

Providing input and maintain the contact database of the programme;

  • Organizing events and workshops;
  • Support in the writing, editing and or translation of blog articles, news and press releases;
  • Maintaining presence in social networks;
  • Producing of a variety of communication tools such as the info sheet, website and videos;
  • Reporting and writing of booklets on workshops (static or interactive);
  • Other tasks as requested by the Knowledge Management Associate.

Qualifications et expériences requises

Education:

  • Masters Programme in economics/marketing/communication/ or related field.
  • University degree in public relations/marketing/communication/journalism or related field.

Experience:

  • A minmum of 1 year experience in communications, client management, association management or knowledge management.
  • Previous  experience in communications and knowledge management in the UN system desired;
  • Expericen in Financial inclusion desired;
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team structure in a multicultural environment;
  • Notions of Design/Graphics.

Languages:

  • Strong writing and speaking abilities in English and French.
