Under the overall guidance of the Director and direct supervision of designated supervisor, the Office Logistician/Clerk provides support services ensuring quality, accuracy and consistency of work. 

The Logistician/Clerk will provide effective support of tasks and will promote a quality client-based approach to his/her work. Any requests within strict and frequent short timeframes will need to be addressed with maximum efficiency and high accuracy of work.

The Logistician/Clerk works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and project staff to support smooth and efficient processing of office daily requests. 

Evaluation of Applicants:

Individual consultants will be evaluated based on a cumulative analysis taking into consideration the combination of the applicants’ qualifications and financial proposal.

The award of the contract should be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:

  • a) Responsive/compliant/acceptable; and
  • b) Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation;
  • c)  Only highest ranked candidates who would be found qualified for the job based on the P11 desk review will be invited for an interview.

Technical Criteria - 70% of total evaluation – max. 100 points total:

  • Criteria A – Background and qualification- max. points: 35
  • Criteria B - Professional work experience relevant to the role - max. points: 35
  • Criteria C – Working experience in UN system – max. points: 15
  • Criteria D – Reference letters from previous employers – max. points: 15

Financial Criteria - 30% of total evaluation

Devoirs et responsabilités

As a member of the Brussels office Operations Team, Logistician/Clerk will carry out the below activities:

  • To serve as a messenger and deliver/retrieve mails to/from various UN locations and to/from the post office;
  • To register and date, then deliver to the front desk the items and mail deposited to the ground floor;
  • To assist with the packaging and dispatching of specific documents;
  • To carry out errands regarding visa delivery, collecting of ID cards, pouch, delivery of goods at airport, purchase of small office items;
  • To provide logistical support to meeting organization, setting up of rooms, and refreshments being provided;
  • To ensure that the office archives are properly maintained (-3 level and 6th floor);
  • To help moving goods in the office (stationery or packages when necessary);
  • Monitor the inventory level of office supplies;
  • To maintain the 6th floor kitchen in clean and orderly fashion, kitchen dishes sorted and cleaned and performs associated task daily, including load and run of dish washer;
  • Directs the office cleaner as needed and monitor their work;
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs;
  • To be familiar with emergency procedures -Fire Safety and Security Plan for UN House and assist in procedures as necessary;
  • To know the location of all fire extinguishers and emergency exits and be able to properly employ firefighting equipment should a fire be discovered on UN House premises;
  • Provision of admin and logistical support, receipt of shipments, arrangements for shipments;
  • Provision of reliable delivery services;
  • Availability of documents/ supplies.

Qualifications et expériences requises

Required Qualifications:

  1. Secondary Education;
  2. 2 years’ work experience as a logistician/office clerk;
  3. Fluency in French (spoken and written). Knowledge of English is an asset.
