Antecedentes

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Regional Communications Specialist, the Web-based Content Management and Digital Media Associate provides web-based content management support to Communications, Regional Programmes and Regional Coordination Units of the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific; troubleshoots the UN Women Asia Pacific regional website and all digital platforms glitches; creates web-based discussion forums for Regional Programmes; supports the UN Women Digital Assets Management; manages regional photo repository; improves the ranking and visibility of Asia Pacific website through search optimization and supports websites maintenance of Multi-Country Offices and Country Offices in Asia and the Pacific.

The web-based Content Management and Digital Media Associate works in close collaboration with Regional Programmes. Multi-country Offices, Country Offices and Project Offices of UN Women in Asia-Pacific region. The incumbent will be required to work in collaboration with the Communications and Advocacy Section at the Headquarter, UN Women Web Specialist, ICT Managers of UN Women and other UN agencies and other ICT Staff.

Deberes y responsabilidades

Supports  Web Content Management systems (CMS) under the supervision of Regional Communications Specialist focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Content Management Systems such as Sitecore efficiently managed to administer Regional Programme Communications and Advocacy materials, products, messages;
  • Compliance ensured with Windows-based global corporate information and digital content management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures for the Regional, MCO, CO technology environments.

Provides effective online communications support and technical  support, focusing on the achievement of the following results:

  • Accelerated Search Engine Submission, Search Engine Optimization to improve ranking and visibility of Asia Pacific website;
  • UN Women discussion boards (such as UN Women Asia Pacific Regional Civil Society Advisory Group (APR-CSAG) discussion board and CEDAW Regional Programme discussion board) efficiently managed in a content management platform;
  • Field offices backstopped in the use of CMS for improved visibility of programme communications results and improved client services.

Provides web management services and technical support on other corporate communications channels and maintains digital repositories, focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Maintaining and administering UN Women Asia Pacific regional website to ensure optimal efficiency and function. Delivering monthly web statistics and analysis report of the Asia Pacific Regional/ field office Websites;
  • Administration of the UN Women Corporate YouTube Account, for Asia and the Pacific
     Support to the maintenance of the MCOs/COs websites and microsites;
  • Provision of CMS, digital repository training, trouble-shooting and monitoring of websites for programme and communications colleagues at MCOs/COs and Country Programmes in Asia and the Pacific;
  • Collaborating with Web Specialist and technical team at the Headquarter to trouble shoot day to day issues.  

Provides web-based content administrative support and facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the MCOs and COs, focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Supports selection and procurement of appropriate project-related software and hardware both in regional office and in country offices;
  • Liaising with various service providers and vendors to ensure that services and hardware purchases are executed and delivered in timely manner;
  • Maintenance of UN Women Digital Assets Management (DAMS) library of Programme Communications, UN Women corporate flagship publications-related reference materials. Assets include videos such as interviews, Public Service Announcements, finished complete productions, messages, webcasts, Training tools, unedited footages and other related videos from Asia and the Pacific Region;
  • Identification and promotion of different systems and applications for optimal content management, knowledge management and sharing, information provision;
  • Participation in the organization of training for the MCOs/COs on multimedia and web CMS issues;
  • Synthesis of lessons learned and best practices as well as production of user’s manuals with full oversight support features, corporate multimedia features and other web boards as required;
  • Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.

Ensures efficient backstopping to the Regional Office ICT services, focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Regularly updating the existing backups and disaster recovery plan and ensuring that equipment inventory and the administrator’s username and passwords to all servers are updated;
  • Monitoring of the network connection to ensure a stable and responsive network environment;
  • Trouble-shooting and monitoring of network problems. Ensure that the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific desktop and network resources are protected from malicious virus attacks and deploy countermeasures in the event of the attacks;
  • Response to user needs and questions regarding network access;
  • Maintenance of up-to-date parameters of information for the network clients and electronic mail;
  • Implementation of backup and restoration procedures for local drives. Maintenance of backup logs. Organization of off-site storage of backups;
  • Maintenance of measures in place for business continuity and disaster recover processes and procedures including backup and restoration of both server and local storage facilities;
  • Networks administration support to other UN agencies as required and preparation of bills for cost recovery for the service provided;
  • Managing the email system including accounts database and mailing lists (UN Women LISTSERV).

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas

Education:

  • Secondary education with required technical qualifications including:  experience with CMS softwares; Video Editing packages; MS Project Databases; Web Programming and Graphics Editing;
  • University Degree in Computer Science desirable, but it is not a requirement. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) required;
  • If certification is not available at the time of recruitment, it should be obtained within 6 months.

Experience:

  • Minimum six years of relevant working experience, including required two years of comprehensive and concentrated CMS administration, management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of Windows-based packages/applications.

Language:

  • Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station.
