Antecedentes

The Building Sector Energy Efficiency Project (BSEEP) has for its goal the reduction in the annual growth rate of GHG emissions from the Malaysia buildings sector. The project objective is the improvement of the energy utilization efficiency in Malaysian buildings, particularly those in the commercial and government sectors, by promoting the energy conserving design of new buildings and by improving the energy utilization efficiency in the operation of existing buildings. The realization of this objective will be facilitated through the removal of barriers to the uptake of building energy efficiency technologies, systems, and practices.

To build capacity and increase awareness of the building design consultants in Malaysia with building modelling software, BSEEP intends to enhance the skill and experience of local building practitioners in the design of energy efficiency with building modelling and lighting simulation software.

Deberes y responsabilidades

Scope of work:

The primary jobscope is to develop training materials, documents and carry out an on site demonstration on the use of the software with drawings provided by the consultant or BSEEP.

The consultant will be required to:

Develop and formulate the advance google sketchup training material: Prepare and formulate the necessary training material to educate and to allow recreation of the process to produce a google sketchup model of an agreed building which will be provided by the consultant or BSEEP. The training material is expected to cover at least:

  • Creation of a geometrically complex three dimensional building;
  • Rendering with materials and textures;
  • Creating presentations;
  • Geomodeling and landscaping;
  • Measuring a room and translating the dimensions to sketchup;
  • Sketchup and CAD workflow;

Dissemination of the google sketchup training material: Lead, coordinate and present training materials through four (4) workshop in Malaysia. It is expected that live demonstrations on a computer with the software running be carried out to allow real time learning experience with the software to develop the necessary three dimensional model and lighting simulation.

Methodology:

The consultant will report to the National Project Manager and will work closely with the BSEEP project team based at the Environment and Energy division of the Public Works Department (JKR).

Expected Outputs:

Corresponds to the scope of work, the consultant is expected to develop and produce training materials to meet the learning objectives in work scope 1 and 2 above. All training materials must be submitted in an editable softcopy format. Videos if produced shall be in *.mp4 format.

Duration:

The consultancy is expected to take place beginning in October 2014.

Deliverables and Timeline:

The consultant will be responsible for the delivery, content, technical quality and accuracy of the training material, three dimensional google sketchup model and report. All deliverables shall be submitted to UNDP Malaysia and BSEEP Project Management Unit at Environment and Energy division of the Public Works Department

Terms of Payment:

The fee is payable upon satisfactory completion and acceptance of the deliverables by BSEEP Project Management Unit and UNDP Malaysia. Breakdown of deliverables and percentage is in annex 1.

Documents to be included when submitting the proposal:

Interested individuals must submit the following documents/information to demonstrate their qualifications:
