Antecedentes

UNDP in Thailand is embarking on an ambitious plan to develop a state of the art public fundraising campaign, to raise funds from the wider Thai public for important projects and programmes designed to address development challenges in Thailand, and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, including through the promotion of social innovation.

To support the launch of this initiative, UNDP Thailand is seeking a talented intern to help develop the digital campaign in terms of building libraries of photos, videos, info-graphics, etc.

Under the guidance of the Deputy Resident Representative, and direct supervision of the Programme Specialist (Democratic Governance and Social Advocacy), the Digital Communications Intern will work closely with the national communications and outreach officer and the Digital Campaign contractor to develop and launch an innovative digital fundraising campaign.

The intern will also work with the UNDP Thailand Social Innovation Team to promote the launch of the Thailand Social Innovation for Development Facility.

Deberes y responsabilidades

The intern will:

  • Review existing photo and video libraries and identify material useful for the digital fundraising campaign;
  • Categorize identified material for easy search and access;
  • Develop campaign specific infographics in English (and Thai with support from national communications officer);
  • Analyze social media audience and define target groups for various campaign themes;
  • Develop concepts and story boards for campaign videos in English (and Thai with support from national communications officer);
  • Ensure update of English section of UNDP Thailand website;
  • Work with UNDP Thailand’s Social Innovation team to develop social innovation campaigns.

  • Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills;
  • Strong organizational and research skills;
  • Experience in advocacy and/or communication, in particular the use of social media;
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Office products;
  • Demonstrates integrity and fairness, by modelling the UN/UNDP’s values and ethical standards;
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas

Education:

  • Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
    • be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
    • have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
  • Degree programme in a relevant discipline (social sciences, communications, marketing, international relations, etc.) with a demonstrated interest in using social media and social innovation for social change an asset.

Language:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Conditions:

  • UNDP internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship;
  • All the expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring Government or institution;
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
  • The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for any post in UNDP during the period of the internship;
  • Interns must provide proof of enrollment in health insurance plan;
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.

Subsequent Employment:

  • There is no expectation of employment with UNDP following an internship.
