Background

The UNDP has been responsible for the implementation of the EU funded Programme Partnership for the Future since 2001. The UNDP-PFF aims at contributing to the peace-building process in Cyprus through different levels of intervention including urban infrastructure rehabilitation, community development and cultural heritage initiatives.
 
The UNDP Partnership for the Future Programme has executed several projects in the field of restoration / reuse and preservation of cultural heritage over the past eight years.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Junior Project Assistant will carry out the following tasks under the guidance and supervision of the Programme Manager:
  • Assisting with the preparation and production of media outreach materials.
  • Writing and editing reports and project summaries for PFF’s rehabilitation and restoration, infrastructure and cultural heritage projects.
  • Assisting with the planning, organization of special events outreach and promotional activities and public and targeted group presentations.
  • Assisting Programme related activities in particular in the field of cultural heritage.
  • Assisting in the start up related activities for the “Bedestan Cultural Centre”.
  • Assisting with arrangement for the PFF exhibitions and related outreach materials.
  • Assisting in the project administration: TOR for consultants to be / TOR for Request for Proposals or Request for Quotations .
  • Assisting with the update of the programme website and preparation of texts, selection of pictures
  • Collecting and maintaining project photographs and related materials.
  • Building network partnerships and supporting outreach programs .
  • Monitoring, maintaining and expanding the media library.
  • Any other task as necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

The following minimum qualifications are required:
  • Degree in Cultural Studies / Communication/ Public Relations and / or related field
  • Language skills: Fluent in English with excellent analytical and drafting skills. Fluency in Greek or Turkish would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Experience in the use of the PowerPoint, Internet Software, Word processing and spreadsheet software
