Background

In order to ensure day-to-day web support of UN in Ukraine web-site, DPI Ukraine seeks to hire a part-time Web Support Assistant who will provide web support and be responsible for adequate functioning and promotion of the UN in Ukraine web-site, and UNDP in Ukraine web-site.
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the UN Communication Officer and UNDP Communication Officer, the ICT Web Support Assistant will provide general support for web-based services and information infrastructure of the UN and UNDP in Ukraine web-sites.
The ICT Web Support Assistant’s will need to be present at the working place 12 hours per week and perform urgent tasks in telecommuting mode.

Duties and Responsibilities

Summary of key functions:Implementation of UN information standards.
  • Web services support.
  • Support for UN visibility projects in social networks.

1. Supports implementation of UN information standards, focusing on achievement of the following results:
  • Compliance with corporate graphic standards and guidelines of the UN in Ukraine web-site.
  • Introduce and implement new web technologies and necessary updates to the structure of the web-site.
  • Provision of integrity and accessibility.

2. Supports web-services, focusing on the achievement of the following results:
  • Minor design amendments and support of the existing UN in Ukraine web-site.
  • Promoting and increasing ratings of UN in Ukraine web-site.
  • Adapting and optimizing press materials layout for the web, including audio and video materials.
  • Provision of additional graphics.
  • Content management: uploading news, photo galleries, video and audio pieces, etc.

3. Supports projects on the UN system in Ukraine’s visibility in social networks:
  • Provides technical support to the UN-related groups and pages on the popular social-networking resources.

Competencies

  • Graphic design and electronic image processing;
  • Experiences in web site and page promotion;
  • Site performance evaluation;
  • Experiences in work with social networks.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in ICT and web-design (up to 3 years)
  • Fluent Ukrainian and English languages
  • Hypertext markup language (HTML) intermediate to advanced
This is a locally recruited position that does not entail expatriation benefits. Local staff salary and benefits will apply.
