Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a United Nation agency which provides technical assistance in Indonesia. One of our projects since 2006 provides support for the control of Avian Influenza, in cooperation with national and regional Indonesian government livestock authorities. Project activities are conducted in various locations nationwide.
Under overall supervision of the FAO Representative, the Project Chief Technical Advisor and the Project Manager and under the guidance and direct supervision of the National Logistic Manager, the incumbent will assist the National Logistic Manager in organizing logistics, procurement and inventory for the Project Office and field activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
II. Functions / Key Results ExpectedSummary of key functions:
- Monitor inventory of supplies in the field (31 Local Disease Control Centres or LDCCs);
- Create distribution plan of project supplies and equipment;
- Arrange and supervise shipments, including IT equipment; Assist in delivering shipments and storage and maintenance of all equipment and supplies in the field and from Project Office in Manara Thamrin and all LDCC field offices;
- Arrange and supervise shipment of items using courier or postal services;
- Maintain updated copies of all LDCC field offices non-expendable equipment registry;
- Develop and maintain inventory report;
- Maintain records of deliveries of equipment and supplies;
- Conduct bi-weekly physical inventory of good in the warehouse and Project Office and update the local inventory control record;
- Provide follow up support for government related issues such as visa, PP19, etc. processes; and
- Perform other related tasks as required.
The key results have an impact on the success of FAO/ GOI Avian Influenza Control Programme implementation in Indonesia.

Required Skills and Experience
V. Recruitment QualificationsEducation:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in logistic and/or supply management is highly desirable.
- At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience and practical field logistics operations preferably including experience with an international organization;
- Effective organization skills and ability to handle volume work in an efficient and timely manner;
- Ability to work with individuals from different cultural / national backgrounds; good interpersonal and communication skill;
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia language is essential; at least good knowledge and understanding in spoken and written English; and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Good knowledge of the English language and speak Bahasa fluently
