Background

United Nations Development Programme, in the framework of the Community Based Approach to Local Development Project (CBA) is recruiting professional with relevant experience and track record for above position of Driver in Zaporizhzhya, Cherkasi, Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson, Ivano-Frankivsk, A R Crimea.

CBA Project is financed by European Union and co-financed and implemented by UNDP. Its overall objective is to create an enabling environment for long-term self-sustaining social-economic and community development at local level by promoting local self-governance and community-based initiatives throughout Ukraine including 25 regions, 200 rayons,900 village/city councils and 900 local communities.. The project period is for 4 years. Key activity of the Project is to support local communities in carrying out community projects. Duties and Responsibilities

Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work. The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.The Driver provides driving services to the project staff, Consultants and Experts and UN staff on mission.

  • Timely and safe driving of project employees, consultants, project guests, project visitors, UNDP staff in the project official vehicles at the authorization from the project management;
  • Performing tasks related to the daily maintenance of the vehicle;
  • Maintaining daily vehicle logs (mileage, fuel consumption, travel routs) and submitting logs to the project administrative assistant on a timely basis;
  • Ensuring that repair and maintenance services are done on project vehicles in time;
  • Ensuring that all instructions regulating safe driving behavior and Rules of the Road are in hand and strictly followed;
  • Ensuring that the vehicle has valid insurance;
  • Driving the project’s vehicle for delivery and collection of mails, documents, pouches, equipment and other administrative tasks as required under the project;
  • Performing other duties as required.

Measurable outputs of the work assignment:

  • Delivery of quality driving service through well maintaining of vehicle and safe driving.
 Performance Indicators for evaluation of results:
  • Provision of reliable and secure driving services;
  • Cost-savings through proper use of vehicle;
  • Level of administrative support for field implementation.

Competencies

  • Valid Ukrainian driving license (minimum category B, preferable - all);
  • Technical proficiency in vehicle maintenance;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Ukrainian Rules of the Road;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Punctuality.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Secondary Education; Valid Driver’s license;
  • Fluency in Ukrainian/Russian language; knowledge of English would be an asset;
  • At least 3 years of professional driving experience.
