Background
The Government of Zimbabwe and the United Nations recently signed the 2012-2015 United Nations Development Assistance Frameworks (ZUNDAF) that constitutes priorities for the next round of programmes support. In the same context,
the UNDP Country Programme which is anchored on the ZUNDAF and 2012-2015 Medium Term Plan launched in July, 2011,
has since been approved by the Executive Board.
The UNDP CO has consequently embarked on developing comprehensive programmes to strengthen the capacity of the institutions' responsible for economic management and the National Statistical Agency which are critical for the recovery and growth of Zimbabwe in the next five (5) years.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Consultant(s)/Consultancy firm will be responsible for the following:
- Conceptualize and draft project documents from the initial stage to final completion.
- Work closely with the relevant Ministries , National Statistical Agency and UNDP to develop strategies, concrete
action plans, costing and implementation framework and M& E for the proposed programmes. - Review and analyze the content of the project documents to ensure consistency with best practice and incorporate
the views of Government and other stakeholders. - Update on a regular basis both the Ministry(ies) and UNDP on the progress and key deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Masters or PhD degree in public administration, economics, development planning or other social sciences.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years work experience either in the Government, University or international organization.
- Previous experience in the preparation of Programme/Project Documents, Strategy Papers or Development plans in a
developing country. - Candidate/Firm who are well-versed with the development issues in Zimbabwe and the Africa region at large will have
an added advantage.
Language:
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
