Background

UNIFEM CEE Office aims to become a quality provider of news and information on Central and South-Eastern Europe related to women’s rights and gender equality issues. The information should serve various audiences, including UNIFEM staff, UNIFEM partners, donors and stakeholders. For that UNIFEM CEE aims to offer visually appealing website, where information about its projects/ programmes as well as the countries covered will be regularly updated and maintained.
 
The Web Editor will update the current information, and ensure re-design various sections so that the new information could be easily and regularly uploaded by UNIFEM CEE staff. The Web Editor will work under overall supervision of the UNIFEM Programme Specialist and in close cooperation with UNIFEM Programme Managers. He/she will be supported by the administrative assistant on technical issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update and redesign UNIFEM CEE website so that it meets the needs of its audience and allows easy maintenance by content owners;
  • Develop information sheets about current UNIFEM programmes;
  • Liaise with UNIFEM experts to identify interesting topics and write stories for the website;
  • Write, edit press releases fact sheets and other documents on demand of UNIFEM CEE Office.

  • IT literacy, familiarity with various writing techniques and ability to operate with on-line web-based applications;
  • Knowledge of Central and South-Eastern Europe and the CIS.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with updating websites is an asset;
  • Proficiency in HTML and Microsoft Word;
  • Native fluency in English
