Background

The successful candidate will be able to join the UNHCR emergency team dedicated to humanitarian assistance for Internally Displaces People (IDPs) and affected population from Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. The work will be mostly concentrated in the area of data management for shelter provision and housing reconstruction, as well as overall IDPs statistics update and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scope of Work:

  1. Set up database, maintenance and mapping on collective center assessment according to instructions of the Shelter/NFI Sector Coordinator. Visualization on interactive web site.
  2. Set up database, maintenance and mapping on secured database related to pre-registration and registration of beneficiaries.
  3. Setting light tool for project tracking including completion dates and numbers of beneficiaries.
  4. Maintain Google group and webpage for shelter sector.
  5. Assist in android application development for assessment.
  6. Maintenance and visualization of 4W (who, what, where and when) matrix nationwide
  7. Produce maps, data visualization and infographics for UNHCR Public Information Unit
  8. Develop interactive maps for UNHCR RR website
  9. Participate in the set up of the software part for Humanitarian Need Assessment
  10. Any other duties requested by Regional Representative, Shelter Sector Coordinator, Public Information Officer or IT Associate.

Competencies

Well-developed technical competencies; flexibility; quick-learner; ability to work with high commitment and under tight deadlines;  readiness to work with minimum instructions and be able to develop a final product; being able to support elements related to shelter sector development.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Even geographic statistic with an in-depth knowledge of ARCGIS (or similar) and database architecture.
  • IT specialized on ARCGIS and database with strong knowledge on statistic and data analysis.
  • Information Manager with strong competencies on ARCGIS and able to set up and maintain a database including data analysis (using SAP 2000)

Reporting Officer:

Primary to the Shelter/NFI Sector Coordinator and secondary to the Public Information Officer and the IT specialist
