Background
UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.
Under the overall guidance of the Representative and under the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer for Strategic Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (NPO for SP, M&E), the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will be expected to provide support towards the implementation of UNFPA monitoring and evaluation activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation:
1. To assist the NPO for SP, M&E in the development of quarterly and annual reports, in accordance to country programme and corporate requirements, particularly the Annual Work Plan Progress Report (quarterly), field monitoring, Standard Progress Reports (SPR) and the Strategic Information System (online annual report). This entails liaising with consultants, partners, and the programme team to ensure quality and timeliness of report submissions.
2. To assist the programme team in the preparation and implementation of reviews, both quarterly and annually, as part of the country office M&E requirement.
3. To provide support in the development of minutes of meetings, presentations, concept notes, terms of references related to monitoring and evaluation.
4. To provide support to units working in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation and programme management, in carrying out other programme management and M&E activities as they arise.
Knowledge Management:
1. To support the M&E team in up-scaling knowledge management of the country office, through activities such as the learning sessions, as well as in keeping track of knowledge products coming out of UNFPA activities.
2. To support the NPO for SP, M&E as secretariat of the Internal Review Committee (IRC). This entails the arrangement of meetings, development of meeting minutes and follow up to actions plans and decisions from the IRC.

Required Skills and Experience
Academic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social or Development sciences.
Experience and qualifications:
- Three years of progressively experience in programme management
- Familiarity of UN/UNFPA system, rules and procedures is an advantage
- Ability to liaise with Implementing Partners (government and NGOs)
- Ability to work well under deadline, excellent interpersonal communication skills and negotiation skills.
- Able to work within a team
- Able to work effectively under pressure.
Languages
- A strong capability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Computer skills
- Proficiency in current office software applications
- Experience in handling of web based management systems. Knowledge of PeopleSoft/ATLAS system is an advantage
