Under overall supervision of the FAO Representative and direct guidance of the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme), the Programme Clerk (G-4) provides operational supports for FAO’s programmes and projects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

More specifically, he/she performs the following duties:

  • Collect and prepare background information in the areas of FAO’s activities in the country (agriculture, forestry, fisheries) and package the information in appropriate format;
  • Analyze and summarize data from various sources, including FAO corporate systems, such as COIN and FPMIS,
  • Datawarehouse, FAS, country databases, and file and update records for subsequent use;
  • Participate in project monitoring by utilizing control tools on the status of projects at various stages; review inputs, expenditures and time frames according to work plans; make necessary abstracts;
  • Assist in the preparation of Quarterly Project Implementation Report (QPIR) and any other periodic and ad hoc project reports;
  • Prepare correspondence on project operational matters, as required.
  • Carry out other specific operational tasks for programme/project implementation as requested.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel programs;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect to diversity; and
  • Has the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Secondary school education with working Level-C English proficiency;
  • Four years of clerical and/or project management experience; Good computer application skills; Independent and efficient work approach; Cooperative spirit in an international environment.
