The Diversity, Inclusion and Shared Leadership Team sits in the Executive Offices and is responsible for providing strategic direction and support in further strengthen the inclusive culture through shared leadership by overseeing the implementation of the UN Women Framework on Diversity, Inclusion and Shared Leadership.

Our goal, at UN Women, is to further strengthen an inclusive culture with a commonly understood and practiced set of values and standard of behaviours by all individuals that reflect UN Women's leadership charter, values and competencies, the UN system leadership framework and the feminist principles underpinning our mandate and work, in line with the UN Women Strategic Plan 2022 – 2025.

Our values and competencies unite us by guiding our decision making and providing shared understanding or what it means to a part of UN Women, regardless of where we work and what we do.  Building on the UN Women Values and Competency Framework, the Diversity, Inclusion and Shared Leadership team is developing and rolling  out Living Our Values Conversations in offices globally to give life to our individual and collective values and anchoring them in everyday practice. 

While the main structure and approach for the Living Our Values Conversations have been developed, UN women requires the support of a Consultant to finalize the Facilitators Handbook for the conversations as well as to training the facilitators. It is expected that this work will take 7 working days, and will be home-based.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Finalize the Facilitators Guidance for the Living Our Values Conversations, including detailed steps and guidance on how to use technology, for both online and offline sessions
  • Organize 2 train the trainer sessions

Required Skills and Experience


Master’s degree Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/ women’s studies, international development, capacity development, economics or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Required Experience and skills:

  • At least 2 years working experience in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Training, Human Resources, Capacity Development  or other related area
  • Experience working in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Experience in development facilitation guidance for offline and online sessions
  • Experience in implementing train the trainers sessions
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Client-oriented
  • Detail oriented
  • Flexible
  • Team player


Language: Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
