Background

The UN’s Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is responsible for defining the strategic direction for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to the UN Secretariat. It provides oversight of ICT programmes, budgets, and decision-making to ensure alignment with the Secretariat’s overall ICT strategy. 


The Strategic Solutions unit at India is supporting various ICT development initiatives. In this unit we are looking for Individual Consultants to support us with the Testing and Quality Assurance of the developed eLearning solutions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • AnchorEnsure that the Quality Assurance (QA) process is documented and communicated and adequate to ensure agreed quality levels for the application.
  • QA issue prioritization and resolution facilitation.
  • Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements, working with the project to ensure all requirements are tested.
  • Works with developers to identify unit testing coverage and ensure any gaps are documented and addressed.
  • Serve as a team member in the Quality Assurance, Software Testing, planning, specification, and design of computer application systems.
  • Performs workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Analyze the collected error/defect data to understand better how errors are introduced and can be eliminated
  • Collaborate and communicate with other developers, instructional designers, and graphic artists. ?
  • Ensure testing of functional areas is complete, tracked and on-schedule.

  • Quality Assurance and testing of 06 eLearning module having one hour duration each and in English and Hindi, (06X2 languages = 12):
    • First session - Understanding childhood and development – 60 minutes
    • Second session - Psychosocial issues of children and its impact on their development – 60 minutes
    • Third session - Understanding violence against children – 60 minutes
    • Fourth session - Academic issues of children and its management – 60 minutes
    • Fifth session - Helping children managing stress – 60 minutes
    • Sixth session - Psychosocial care for children in schools through teachers – 60 minutes

Please note:

  • A Tester will be given complete orientation to the required testing, prior to the start.
  • A Tester is required to frequently share his/her work and immediate feedback would be shared.
  • No work would be considered accepted unless approved by the Production Coordinator.
  • A Tester would be required to submit all the reports in Excel format.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: University degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems or related field. Secondary School education in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. Having certification in software testing would be an added advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in Quality Assurance and Testing, preferably in eLearning domain.
  • Languages: English and Hindi

Evaluation Criteria:

The award of the contract shall be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as response and having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation.

  • Technical Criteria weight - 70%.
  • Financial Criteria weight - 30%.
  • Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 49 points (70% of the total technical points) would be considered for the financial evaluation.

Criteria for Technical Evaluation:

  • Qualification – 10 marks.
  • Relevant Work Experience – 60 marks.

Criteria for Financial Evaluation:

Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 49 points (70% of the total technical points) would be considered for thefinancial evaluation.

Technically qualified consultants will be requested to submit their lumpsum financial proposal in INR i.e.consultants who score more than or equivalent 70% i.e. 49 marks with respect to the above-mentioned evaluation criteria.Consultant should not specify their financial proposal on their CV or with the submission. The CV will not be evaluated further in casethe consultant submits the same.
