Background
The mission of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to
i) alleviate human suffering and disasters in emergencies; ii) advocate for the rights of people in need; iii) promote preparedness and prevention, and iv) facilitate sustainable solutions.
As part of its operations, OCHA regional office for Syria crisis produces and delivers a number of information products and services including data coordination, databases, and infographics which inform the humanitarian community in their response to the humanitarian situation in the country.
The Information Management Officer (Graphic Designer) reports to the Head of IMU or designate. The incumbent will provide information management services and products, with focus on data management and visualization (graphic design). The IMO (GD) will be the focal point for the maintenance and implementation of OCHA’s graphic guidelines

Required Skills and Experience
Education: | Advanced university degree in Graphic Design, Arts, Multimedia, Geographic Information Systems, Information Management, Statistics, or Social Sciences, or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. |
