Background

UN Women grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace, and security. Placing women's rights at the centre of all its efforts, UN Women leads and coordinates United Nations system efforts to ensure that commitments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming translate into action throughout the world. It provides strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States' priorities and efforts, building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors.

 

Currently, UN Women Indonesia has expanded its activities with many new initiatives as a result of this development staff being recruited to support the programme implementation. The existing office was designed to accommodate the current staff thus new office is required to accommodate the additional staff of UN Women Indonesia. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Representative and Liaison to ASEAN, and under direct support to Operations Manager, the consultant will undertake the following:

1. Perform all required site surveys and measurements and liaise with the facility management unit, which covers:

  • client’s requirements study
  • space programming
  • drafting of design, room diagram, zoning perspective
  • schematics design, minimal of two layouts (3D scene), and material proposal
  • Bill of quantity (BoQ) estimation and financial analysis for project schedule

2. Undertake the UN Women Indonesia office design:

  • integrating planning, including engineering and maintenance system
  • drafting construction work documents, technical specification, and budget planning
  • drafting of engineering calculation and analysis
  • design office furniture to accommodate each workstation consistent with the specifications.

3. Assist during the tender preparation and the tender process.

4. Supervision of renovation operations to ensure that the work is aligned with overall plans for the office environment.

  • drafting of construction planning
  • coordinate the interior work with M/E or the specialist contractors
  • verification of shop drawing, material, and color testing
  • give maximum control to the work
  • quality under accurate time schedule and cost control

During the consultancy, the consultant is expected to coordinate to regularly visit the office to monitor the progress of the renovation works.

Duration of Assignment and Duty Station

The contractor will be stationed in Jakarta during his/her consultancy period. It is required for the consultant to attend to the office to monitor the work of the renovation, from 15 February to 15 August 2022.

Required Skills and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or interior design

Years of experience

  • Eight (8) years of experience in the area of architecture/interior design pertaining to architecture/interior design programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and others as relevant.
  • Full understanding of applicable architecture and construction code/norms
  • Having a previous experience in designing high profile offices is an asset

 

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on the cumulative analysis.

  • Technical Qualification (100 points) weight; (80%]
  • Financial Proposal {100 points) weight; [20%]

A two-stage procedure is utilized in evaluating the applications, with the evaluation of the technical application being completed prior to any price proposal being compared. Only the price proposal of the candidates who passed the minimum technical score of 80% of the obtainable score of 100 points in the technical qualification evaluation will be evaluated.

Applications without financial proposals will be treated as incomplete and will not be considered for further assessment.

 

Payments

Payments for this consultancy will be based on the achievement of each deliverable and certification that each has been satisfactorily completed.
