The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN’s global development network, working in 177 countries and territories. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNDP is committed to helping the country through strengthened national and local capacities to carry out political, economic and social reforms and promote development. In the programmatic period 2021-2025, United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework will guide the work of authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the United Nations (UN). Commitment to work together and achieve priorities in BiH is expressed by: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), future accession to the European Union, the Joint Socio-Economic Reforms (Reform Agenda) 2019-2022, and the human rights commitments of BiH, including other agreed international and regional development goals, and treaty obligations and conventions.
In light of the above, under the supervision of the Local Development Programme Manager/GG Deputy Sector Leader, and in cooperation with Communications Assistant, the Communication Expert will support the implementation, visibility and communication activities, ensuring effective and successful communication and promotion of programme activities.

Duties and Responsibilities |

Within this Consultancy, the Expert is expected to perform the following tasks: Task 1: Develop Structured Communication and Visibility Strategies and Plans for Projects within Local Development Programme
The Expert should be guided by best practices in terms of structure and communication opportunities when developing communication and visibility strategies and plans. Communication and visibility strategies and plans developed by the expert should be written in English and local language and submitted to UNDP for approval. It is envisaged that this task will not exceed 20 workdays.
The Expert should produce/write per month - 1 blogpost and 4 social media posts for 6 projects within Local Development Programme. More specifically, the Expert should produce 1 blog and 4 social media posts per month for the Projects under the portfolio. The Projects will be defined each month, along with the deadline. Every content prepared should be approved by the programme or designated project manager and Head of Communications Unit. Task 3: Reporting It is envisaged that this task will not exceed 5 workdays. The Communications Expert will closely cooperate with Programme’s Communications Assistant and the Head of UNDP Communications Unit. Deliverables/outputs
