Background |

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. In support of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women (2030) and Egypt’s Vision 2030, under the “Closing the Gender Gap Accelerator” platform and as per UN Women’s commitments taken in the United Nations Development Partnership Framework (UNPDF 2018-2022) for Egypt, KOICA, UN Women and the Government of Egypt have recently launched a Women’s Economic Empowerment Project. The aim of the UN Women/KOICA project is to economically empower women through interventions including social norms/perceptions change in the stereotypes around women’s work (especially in non-traditional sectors), as well as providing internship and job access to young women graduates, and finally, advocating for the adoption of Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) in the private sector, will be an effective intervention to support the empowerment of Egyptian women. Reporting to the Deputy Country Representative, the Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of UN Women/KOICA project in UN Women Egypt Country Office by providing substantive inputs to project implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UN Women/KOICA-supported project by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women Regional Office and HQ personnel, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful implementation of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities |

Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of the UN Women/KOICA Women’s Economic Empowerment project
Provide technical assistance and capacity development to project partners
Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the project
Provide substantive technical inputs to the management of people and finances of the UN Women/KOICA Women’s Economic Empowerment project
Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination on Women’s Economic Empowerment to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in the country
Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
