UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women Sudan is part of the UN System and as such work closely with other UN agencies and international cooperation to implement its triple mandate encompassing normative support, UN system coordination, and operational activities in support of the attainment of the SDG. UN Women Sudan has a historical partnership with women’s groups and CSO, which are instrumental in the actions and advocacy to promote Gender equality and Women’s empowerment. UN Women is currently working on Women, Peace and Security, women’s economic empowerment and political participation and leadership of women in different states of Sudan. Reporting to the Program Specialist, the Monitoring and Reporting Officer will provide support to the Sudan Country office colleagues in incorporating monitoring and reporting into programme formulation as well tracking against Strategic Plan targets and the reporting of results to internal and external audiences.
