Background

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Placing women's rights at the centre of all its efforts, UN Women will lead and coordinate the United Nations’ system efforts to ensure that commitments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming translate into action throughout the world. It will provide strong and coherent leadership in support of Member States' priorities and efforts, building effective partnerships with civil society and other relevant actors.

At UN Women Headquarters (HQ), the Intergovernmental Support and Strategic Partnerships Bureau includes the Strategic Partnerships, Advocacy, Communications and Resource Mobilization Division (SPD).  Within SPD, the Public Partnerships Section (PPS) strives to coordinate and achieve UN Women’s resource mobilization goals, as the organization responds to UN reform efforts, the world financial situation and trends in aid effectiveness and development cooperation. The Partner Intelligence, Visibility and Analysis (PIVA) Unit at PPS elaborates and provides timely and accurate partner intelligence to facilitate engagement and foster organizational learning and innovation, and lead on partner recognition and visibility efforts, in close collaboration with field offices.
