Background |

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women MCO-Caribbean (MCO) covers 22 English and Dutch speaking countries and territories in the Caribbean. The MCO is based in Barbados and has personnel across 5 Caribbean countries as there remains high and consistent demand for the exercise of UN Women’s integrated mandate across the 22 countries and territories. Reporting to the Knowledge and Communications Analyst, the Communications Analyst will be based in Trinidad and Tobago and is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of the MCO communications and advocacy strategies to increase the standing and awareness of UN Women with partners, the media and the public. The Communications Analyst works in close collaboration with the Communications, Programme, Operations, and technical teams in the MCO, HQ/Regional communications teams, staff of other UN Agencies, Government officials, media, multilateral and bilateral donors and civil society.

Duties and Responsibilities |
|
Provide substantive support to the planning and design of external communication and outreach/advocacy strategies and plans
Coordinate and contribute substantively to the development and dissemination of advocacy materials in the MCO.
Coordinate media relations for the MCO.
Build and maintain partnerships and maintain relations with donors
Coordinate the MCO’s web/ online presence
Facilitate knowledge building and sharing
