Introduction :

Country:   Antigua and Barbuda

Description of the Assignment:  Consultancy to provide technical, implementation, administrative, monitoring and reporting support to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for the implementation of the prioritized activities under the EnGenDER project in Antigua and Barbuda

Period of assignment/services: 8 Months

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the EnGenDER Project Manager with additional guidance and support from the Technical Specialist- Gender Equality and the Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst, the National Project Assistant (NPA) is expected to support the technical, implementation, monitoring, and reporting and administrative (including logistical arrangements) related to the execution of this assignment

Competencies

  • Good analytical, organizational and management skills, including proven experience in coordinating with national stakeholders and expert teams, organizing multi-stakeholder consultation processes, documenting results, and possessing effective communication skills (based on work experience).
  • Good understanding of national development policy (including Climate Change and/or Environmental related policies) institutional structures, and ability to advise on institutional capacities and relations related to the Ministry or Departments with responsibility for Climate Change and Environmental issues or Gender/ Social Policy related matters.
  • Able to support, motivate and liaise effectively with communities and community groups.
  • Sound cross-cultural, gender-awareness, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Ability to work and build partnerships with diverse stakeholders in the government, private and non-governmental sectors
  • Previous knowledge of the national government system related to the Ministry or Departments with responsibility for Climate Change and Environmental issues or Gender/ Social Policy related matters.
  • Demonstrable computer skills including Word processing, spread sheets, PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in event planning and coordination with specific focus on communication or gender or climate change
  • Proven ability and experience in workshop facilitation. 

 

Required Skills and Experience

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or Climate Change, Environmental Science or Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management or another Social Science related area
