The People Analytics Team within the Office of Human Resources/Bureau for Management Services is responsible for the delivery to UNDP clients of a full spectrum of HR Reporting services, with the aim of ensuring that Bureaux and Offices can attract and effectively manage required talent in the culture of high performance, innovation and informed risk-taking.  The HR Intern will be supporting the team in collaboration with other OHR teams, in delivering wide ranging services such as workforce analytics, talent management, power BI security maintenance and standard operating systems and organization department tree analysis to mention a few.  The incumbent will provide transparent analysis and reporting thru collaborative client-oriented approach thus contributing to foster effective business solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs organization's department tree analysis and clean-up by coordinating with different stakeholders such as GSSC;
  • Testing existing Dashboards and Power BI reports before releasing them to production environment;
  • Work closely with the Business Partners to gather their operationa and/or monitoring reports requirement needs;
  • Perform statistical analysis of HR data for reporting to senior management, departments, offices, missions and member states;
  • Provide support to the design, development and delivery of hte Human Resources reporting system - Power BI;
  • Identify and analyze demographical trends including age, gender, occupation;
  • Identify human resorces data quality issues and solutions to overcome;
  • Analyze reports and acvises on constraints and opportunities for recruitment, staff development, retention and staff turnover;
  • Prepare standard operating systems for the Power BI that will be useful for the end users;
  • Power BI security maintenance to Country Offices, Bureaux and different UN agencies; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

Applicants to the UNDP Internship Programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master's Degree programme or higher), preferably in the following areas of study such as Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Management, Business Administration or any related fields;
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degre programme (minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent) in area of study such as  Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Management, Business Administration or any related fields;
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and if selected must start the internship within one year of graduation.
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this programme.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in the English language, both oral and written, is required.
  • Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

Conditions of the Internship:

  • UNDP internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship;
  • UNDP offers a monthly stipend to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, such as meals and transportation at the duty station;
  • All other expenses connected with the internship will be born by the intern, sponsoring Government or institution;
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
  • The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UN during the period of the internship;
  • The intern must provide proof of enrollment in health insurance plan;
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity
