“Support Programme on Scaling up Climate Ambition on Land Use and Agriculture through NDCs and NAPs (SCALA)” is a global programme funded by the German Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and implemented by UNDP and FAO in 12 countries. SCALA is innovative approaches and create a paradigm shift for agriculture and land use through the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs). To achieve this shift, the approach includes linking inter-sectoral issues, such as water, land and broader landscape regeneration and management, as well as promoting resilient value chains and nature-based solutions (NbS) in food and agricultural systems. The programme implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Thailand’s Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC). The SCALA programme emphasises collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive implementation. Against this backdrop, FAO/UNDP Thailand Office is seeking to recruit a SCALA Technical Coordinating Consultant to lead the inception of the Programme in Thailand and contribute to the definition of the SCALA joint workplan at the country level.
