The Policy and Partnerships team works closely with Egypt institutions, including the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) on evidence-based and national-level policy initiatives. These include but are not limited to work on mainstreaming, accelerating and policy support related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), supporting the development of Egypt’s Human Development Report, and contributing to the wealth of policy support on financing for development. The Policy and Partnerships team also works with other specialized Programmes within UNDP to support them with their outreach, resource mobilization efforts and expansion on partnerships with government partners, private sector, and civil service organizations. Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative and the Policy and Partnerships Programme Team Leader, the Management and Policy Intern will assist the team with the implementation of all ongoing and planned policy-related activities and projects, support with updating UNDP’s partnership research and partnership tools, and support with the promotion of organizational tools within the team and with other UNDP programmes. |

Required Skills and Experience
Eligibility:
Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
(c) Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
(d) Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
Field of Study:
All academic backgrounds welcome, but priority will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary experience, e.g., science and society, social sciences, arts and humanities, policy or equivalent.
IT Skills
- Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Office productivity tools.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic and English is required.
- UNDP will provide a stipend in the amount of EGP 2,953 monthly in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP Internship policy.
