The initiative brings together organizations from every part of society to catalyze progress, advocate for change and take bold actions together.
Generation Equality launched six Action Coalitions led by Action Coalition ‘leaders’ from every sector, including an Action Coalition focused explicitly on Economic Justice & Rights. Together these leaders co-designed ‘blueprints’ of the most catalytic actions necessary to achieve gender equality, codified into a holistic Global Acceleration Plan.
Reporting to the Chief of the Economic Empowerment (EE) section of the Policy, Programme and Intergovernmental Division (PPID), UN Women is seeking to fill the position of Thematic Lead for Generation Equality’s Economic Justice & Rights Action Coalition to manage and grow the multistakeholder Action Coalition on Economic Justice & Rights.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage the Generation Equality Action Coalition on Economic Justice & Rights:

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system (DAW, OSAGI, INSTRAW and UNIFEM), which focused exclusively on gender equality and women's empowerment.
