Under the supervision of the Regional Human Resources business Partner, a consultant will be required to provide services in the area of recruitment, particularly in screening of applications

Devoirs et responsabilités

The main tasks will include:

  • Screen applications received on-line against the pre-determined selection criteria;
  • Record a brief justification for each applicant, explaining the reason for longlisting/not-longlisting;
  • Submit the longlist for review by the Team Leader for Recruitment and Staffing and/or other HR Business Partner, as appropriate;
  • Source candidates by using databases, social media, and other resources, as applicable;
  • Ensure confidentiality in all procedures and exchanges of information
  • Process the reference checks of the recommended candidates
  • Facilitate interview panels, draft panel reports and obtain the required clearances from the panel members.

Qualifications et expériences requises

Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration or other relevant social sciences.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in recruitment and selection;
  • Development experience and knowledge of the United Nations policies, procedures and practices, particularly those related to human resources and operations preferable;
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender balance;
  • A high sense of confidentiality, diplomacy and urgency is required.

Languages:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English are required. Knowledge of another official UN language is highly desirable (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
