Background
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Facilities and Administrative Services unit ensures the delivery of a cost-effective, client-focused service at a strategic level for all UN Women Headquarters. This includes overseeing an integrated programme of cleaning and building maintenance services, construction and relocation projects and overall delivery of standard office supplies and conference services management. In addition, this includes the management of the global distribution and messenger services center.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Administrative and Facilities Specialist, the Archives Mid- Level Consultant would work with the Facilities Team in the initial sorting of archival collections and descriptive cataloging, in preparation of having records stored off-site.
Duties and Responsibilities
Archiving Consultant Responsibilities:
• Cataloguing and indexing archive items;
• Barcoding indexed boxes;
• Photocopying and filing;
• Inputting information into databases;
• Identifying and preparing records for off-site storage;
• Maintaining proper care and maintenance of all documents handled;
• Communicating regularly with assigned supervisor about concerns, issues, or ideas arising from current project.

Required Skills and Experience
Education and certification:
• High School diploma is required
Experience:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
• A minimum of (four) 4 year filing/archiving or related experience
