Antecedentes
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women in Georgia supports state and non-state partners towards the achievement of substantive gender equality in Georgia. In line with national and international commitments, UN Women works on the levels of policy and legislation, institutions and grassroots, in order to achieve transformative results for increased gender equality and greater protection of the rights of women and girls.
In July 2023 UN Women Country Office launched the 2nd phase of the “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia” (GG4GEGII) project. The project is implemented with the generous support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and aims to ensure that women and girls in all their diversity benefit from gender-responsive governance and fully and equally participate in decision-making and economic life in Georgia. Under outcome 1, which falls under UN Women Country Office’s Governance & Participation in Public Life (G&PPL) portfolio, the project strives to ensure that gender-responsive legislative and policy frameworks are adopted and implemented to promote gender equality and women’s meaningful participation in decision-making and leadership at all levels.
Reporting to the Governance & Participation in Public Life (G&PPL) Programme Specialist, the GG4GEGII Project Analyst will provide support in planning, implementing and monitoring of the outcome 1 (governance component) of the GG4GEGII project. Working in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ staff, government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society, the Project Analyst will contribute towards successful implementation of UN Women country programme under the G&PPL portfolio.
Deberes y responsabilidades
Under the overall supervision of the G&PPL Programme Specialist, the Project Analyst will carry out the following functions:
- Provide support in drafting annual workplans and budgets as required
- Work towards timely implementation of the detailed projects’ annual work plans
- Develop monitoring plans and regularly monitor progress towards programmatic goals
- Conduct regular monitoring missions in project sites
- Draft periodic progress reports in line with the project documentation
- Provide technical inputs to the design and formulation of programme/ project proposals and initiatives related to G&PPL
- Conduct research, data collection, report-writing, and analysis as relevant
- Coordinate and organize advocacy campaigns, events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products
- Contribute to the selection of international and national consultants/companies and preparation of procurements and contracting packages in line with the work plans and UN Women rules and guidelines.
- Supervise project staff, national and international consultants
- Review and coordinate the submission of partners’ financial and narrative reports
- Provide technical support to project partners and beneficiaries, based on the assessment of capacity development needs
- Contribute to the development of tools and knowledge products supporting/resulting from the project implementation
- Document evidence, facts and other information as well as review and compile partners’ inputs to contribute to the preparation of reports
- Provide inputs to relevant documentation such as project summaries, conference papers, briefing notes, speeches, and donor profiles
- Follow up on performance indicators/success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of reports related to G&PPL
- Perform other relevant duties as required.

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas
Academic Background:
- At least Master’s Degree or equivalent in gender studies, human rights, public policy, law, political science, sociology, economics or related field.
- At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in gender studies, human rights, public policy, law, political science, sociology, economics, or related field with additional 2 years of relevant experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Master’s Degree
Relevant work experience:
- In case of Master’s degree - no working experience is required- minimum requirement;
- Minimum 2 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience in project/programme management and implementation
- At least two years (with bachelor’s degree) of professional experience working on gender equality, women’s empowerment, human rights and development issues
- Experience of working with international organizations and non-governmental organizations will be a strong asset
- Experience of working on women’s political participation will be a strong asset
- Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors will be a strong asset.
Languages:
- Fluency in written and spoken Georgian and English – minimum requirement.
