Internship position will be placed within the Regional Programme on Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 (ReLOaD2).
ReLOaD2 continues to strengthen participatory democracies and the EU integration process in the Western Balkans by empowering civil society and youth to actively take part in decision making and by stimulating an enabling legal and financial environment for civil society. The programme is implemented in the following IPA beneficiaries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), North Macedonia, Kosovo[1], Montenegro and Serbia.
Working across the region, ReLOaD2 enhances capacities of local governments and civil society organisations (CSOs) to engage in productive partnerships and contributes to improved service delivery and realisation of local priorities in line with development strategies.
ReLOaD2 works with 63 partner local governments and in cites partner local governments to distribute public funding for CSOs in a transparent and development-oriented manner, recognising local needs and embracing a project-based approach. Also, the project promotes youth engagement and supports implementation of youth initiatives and works on improvement of their economic perspectives in partner localities.
The total budget of the ReLOaD2 is EUR €12.63 million ($15.06 million) the project duration is 48 months (2021 – 2024). The incumbent will be based in UNDP BiH office in Sarajevo.

Devoirs et responsabilités
Under the overall supervision of the ReLOaD2 Regional Programme Manager, the Intern will assist the Project Associate in the implementation of the activities with focus on Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) database.
Internship-specific duties and responsibilities may fall under the following categories:
- Engage in a range of activities to support the effective and efficient implementation of the Project’s communication strategy, i.e. enter CSOs data by inputting text and numerical based information from source documents within time limits;
- Maintain database content created within ReLOaD2 on a daily basis;
- Updating existing data sets following guidelines to ensure consistency;
- Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents;
- Compiling and formatting data and creating spreadsheets in MS Excel to prepare source data for computer entry;
- Perform data cleaning process - fixing or removing incorrect, corrupted, incorrectly formatted, duplicate, or incomplete data within a dataset;
- Respond to queries for information and access relevant files;
- Provide administrative support;
- Assist in other related duties and tasks as required;

Qualifications et expériences requises
Academic Qualifications/Education
Applicants to the UNDP Internship Programme must at the time of the application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a Master’s programme or higher in media and communications, journalism, peacebuilding, political science, or related fields)
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent in media and communications, journalism, peacebuilding, political science, or related fields)
- Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in a) and b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program
Skills
- Proficiency in English,
- Proficiency in the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- Computer literacy in standard office software applications,
- Demonstrated interest in digital transformation is an asset.
I.Learnings
The intern will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in in-house training opportunities as applicable,
- Learn the structure, mechanisms, policies and practice areas of UNDP,
- Participate in dedicated trainings and UNDP online learning tools,
- Strengthen his/her effective writing.
II.Terms and Conditions
- Since 1 January 2020 UNDP interns are provided a monthly stipend to cover costs associated to the internship. The stipend amount varies from duty station to duty station. The amount can also vary depending if a selected candidate receives financial support from a nominating institution, related institution or government;
- UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
- UNDP only accepts interns for a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 6 months;
- Interns are expected to work full time but flexibility is allowed for their education programme;
- The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
- The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with UNDP but to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship;
- Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
